90 Minute Consultation
Have a space in your home that does not feel finished? Looking for the perfect paint color but just cannot decide? Need to rearrange your furniture but stumped by your rooms layout? We can tackle all of these things and more!
On-site Design Consultations-Only are a paid appointment and are preceded by a 15 minute intake phone call to learn more about your project.
Design Plan:
In Person or Virtual
Sometimes we just need a little guidance in order to create a thriving environment. And sometimes we know our space needs a refresh but we don’t know where to start. Design plans are the answer! Start with a consult and end with a path for you (or your contractor) to run on.
It is a great way to develop a plan tailored to you and your family, ultimately achieving an intentionally designed space that reflects who you are, allowing you to live life just a smidge more beautifully.
Design plans have two levels: Concept Design and Design Development. Both include a mood board, space layout proposal and implementation plan. Concept Design includes a generalized source list (think sectional sofa, 4 dining chairs…). Design Development goes into sourcing specified items and includes an itemized source list.
Design Plans are preceded by both a 15 minute intake phone call and an On-site consultation or Virtual Consultation.
Full-Service Design
You know you want to work, live and play in an environment that is both functional and inspiring but you do not have the time, or maybe even the interest, in cultivating it. Full-service design is like having a space-stylist at your fingertips. From revamping your bedroom to designing a complete renovation plan for your home or office, we are with you every step of the way, collaborating to make intentional decisions in order to achieve your dream space.
Full-service design includes everything up through Design Development and then adds in procurement and installation.
our Process
Intake Phone Call (everyone starts here!):
Email or click the “connect” button below to schedule a 15 minute exploratory call about your design needs! Here we will discuss things like scope of your project, timeline, budget and of course, your favorite color!
On-site or Virtual Consultation:
We will schedule a time for us to come to your home or office and learn more about your project! We’ll have a blast while we talk through some pain points (aka shoes everywhere), begin to form a plan to tackle triggers (hello visible clutter, blah living rooms and mismatched spaces!) and get the wheels turning on how to transform your space to reflect a little more of YOU (insert beautiful, inspired space that is orderly and functional!). During the consult, you will provide us with an on-site/virtual orientation of your project as well as examples of your preferred style (and if you don’t know your style, we will figure that out too!). We will dive a little deeper into budget and timeline and set rough goals for your project.
Concept Design Phase:
After our consultation time together, KCD will get to work on developing a design plan that is perfect for your space and your lifestyle needs. We will meet with you (either virtually or in person) to go over our initial design concepts that will include color schemes, furniture direction, proposed layouts, elevations, and textiles, lighting, cabinetry suggestions etc. This also includes any trade needs such as plumbing, electrical, general construction, carpentry, etc. Once complete, we will meet again to present final mood boards, space layouts, an implementation plan and a generalized source list. Concept Design includes one revision and requires a deep dive interview and site visit to take photos and measurements before commencing.
Design Development:
Once we complete the Concept Design phase, we will get to work on your design plan and schedule your final Design Development presentation. The difference between Concept Design and Design Development is in the details. If you just need a generalized idea of where to take your space, Concept Design is for you. However, if you want the items suggested for renovation or furnishing installation, Design Development is for you.
Procurement, Scheduling and Installation (Only for Full Service Design clients):
Once revisions are complete and approved by the client(s), we will move forward with procurement. You’ll be presented with a list of items for purchase and all fees associated with any construction. Once you sign off on items to be sourced and you have secured your preferred trades people, we will move on to the final, and most exciting phase of your project!
Depending on the scope of your project (think new build home vs. living room refresh) we will work to schedule either a start date or an installation date(s) to completely install every item that we have included in your design. This is where things get exciting and you start to see your vision coming to fruition! All of your dreaming and planning will soon be realized! We will communicate with you every step of the way as we work to cultivate a beautiful place that will hold space for your most meaningful life!
